The tallest building in Scandinavia

Karlatornet will be the first real skyscraper in Gothenburg and will also become the tallest building in Scandinavia. The building will be 245 meters tall, 73 floors, and its profile will be visible from pretty much everywhere in the Gothenburg area.

The US architects Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, (SOM) has designed the skyscraper. SOM is based in Chicago and has designed six of the 15 tallest buildings in the world.

Karlatornet will include almost 600 highly contemporary apartments in various sizes, designed by some of Sweden’s leading architects. The residences will have access to a gym, pool, roof terrace and a unique level of service. There will also be a hotel, a Sky Bar with magnificent view, etc.

In July 2017, Nordic Choice Hotels and Karlastaden Utveckling AB, the project company in which Serneke owns 50 percent, signed a letter of intent for Petter Stordalen’s Group to become the hotel operator in Karlatornet.

Ola Serneke, CEO and founder of the Serneke Group, is the initiator of the project.
