Next Step & Vectura
GoCo is a joint venture between Investor-owned real estate company Vectura and Next Step. GoCo is becoming a new urban district with innovative environments and venues that will make West Sweden an attractive destination for researchers, entrepreneurs and promising talents from all around the world. The area is designed to promote sharing of knowledge and expertise between individuals, companies and institutions. Construction will begin in 2019.
GoCo – a health innovation cluster where businesses and individuals thrive
Strategically located in Gothenburg/Mölndal, GoCo is in the center of a region already in the forefront of research within cancer, inflammation and metabolic diseases, stem cell, gene therapy and ageing research. GoCo has a focus on health and innovation and together with Astra Zeneca’s research facility and several other neighbouring industry leading companies, GoCo will become a competence cluster for health industry.
The district includes co-working areas, office space for large and small businesses, conference and training facilities, hotel, accommodation for researchers and students and much more. Fully developed it is planned for approximately 350 companies and 7000 individuals to engage in research, development and business in life sciences, healthcare development and digital health services.
Next Step and Vectura – a joint venture building GoCo
Next Step was founded in 2004 in Gothenburg by Jacob Torell and Joakim Garfvé. The company owns, develops and manages mainly commercial properties, focusing on growth areas in the Gothenburg region. Projects besides GoCo include Wendelstrand, a new urban district in Mölnlycke and the development of Nya Hovås south of Gothenburg. Next Step is good at reducing the distance between vision, sketch, shovel and completion of city projects. The procedure is focused on early visualisation and dialogue with the local population, customers and other stakeholders involved in the projects. Next Step believes that places you want to visit, work at and live in are something you must create together.
Vectura is a real estate company owned by Patricia Industries, part of Investor AB. Vectura was founded in late 2012 and focuses on the community service, office and hotel real estate segments. The company's largest customers include Aleris, Grand Hôtel and Investor AB.
Together Vectura and Next Step are developing GoCo - a world-class innovation cluster for health. When completed, the district will offer a total of about 100,000 square meters, and 3.5 billion SEK will have been invested.
