Gothenburg wins FDI awards at Mipim

When the international property event Mipim 2018 opened on Tuesday, Gothenburg began on a high note winning multiple awards from the Financial Times’ FDI Magazine. Among other things it was named in the top six “mid-sized European cities of the future 2018/19” and ranked second in the connectivity category.

“These awards are recognition that the Gothenburg region is one of Europe’s hottest growth regions,” says Patrik Andersson, CEO at Business Region Göteborg, who received Gothenburg’s awards during the prize ceremony at Mipim.

In total, Gothenburg won four awards and was ranked among the top 10 mid-sized cities overall as well as in the categories connectivity, economic potential, and human capital and lifestyle.

“It shows the versatility and breadth we can offer in Gothenburg. We are one Europe’s most connected regions, we have a high level of competence and a good lifestyle,” says Andreas Göthberg, head of FDI at Business Region Göteborg and project leader for the Gothenburg stand at Mipim.

Gothenburg is in the middle of a historical development leap and an estimated EUR 100 billion will be invested in infrastructure and real estate by 2035. At the Gothenburg stand at Mipim, located at P-1.J24, you can learn more about the region's best development opportunities and meet our developers, consultants, authorities and politicians.
